Review: Wet n' Wild Eye Shadow

I'm not usually a huge fan of eye shadows because I don't really think many colours suit me very well and I feel like my makeup is too dramatic whenever I wear them (which isn't very often haha) but this eye shadow trio is now my ABSOLUTE favourite EVER!

The colours are so highly pigmented and easy to blend with a slight hint of shimmer. You can build up the colour to create a more natural looking smokey eye or just use one of the colours on their own! The colours don't crease on eyelids and last a really long time- If you're a fan of more neutral tones on your eyes- like me- then this is perfect for you. I think the little labels on the eye shadows are really helpful for beginners at makeup as they show where to put the eye shadow. This has got to be my favourite colours for eye shadow because, although it is neutral, there is still the faint pop of pink which brightens up the eyes and looks really lovely! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for neutral tones that don't overpower your eyes!

Review: MAC Impassioned Lipstick

Hello! It feels like I haven't blogged in ages - which is true - and I don't really know why I haven't blogged in a while, I guess I've just been stuck for ideas but I will be posting more regularly from now on- my aim is to post every Tuesday and Friday! I'll stop rambling now and leave you with this majorly overdue and delayed MAC review- enjoy! :)

As a complete impulse buy when I went on a trip to London, I decided to give the MAC 'Impassioned' lipstick a try- and I'm really glad I did. Whenever I'm in MAC, I never know where to look when it comes to lipsticks because there are always so many different colours and finishes but, after spotting a very bright pink colour - which is something that I wouldn't normally go for and, at first, didn't realise just how bright it was - I decided to give it a go.

I think the great thing about this lipstick is that it can be applied both heavily and lightly (depending on the look that you are going for) but will still look lovely!

I really love the Amplified finish because it's so creamy and easy to apply, also it won't highlight the cracks/ lines in your lips because of the rich consistency which is perfect for the upcoming autumn/winter months when lips tend to get more chapped.

If you're a fan of big, bright and bold lip colours then I definitely think this is the one for you- but even if you're not as confident with bright lipsticks, this can work to. I like to put lip balm on first and then put a thin layer of lipstick on over it which dulls down the colour and also moisturises your lips a lot more. I think this colour will suit any skin colour because of the versatile shade of pink- and I definitely recommend this to everyone!

Beach Life

Hello! As I've finally got time to blog I thought I'd write a quick 'A Day in the Life' type blog post and, as you can tell by the title, I went to the beach.

If you live in the UK, you'll know that the weather lately has been absolutely boiling and, as I live fairly close to the sea, I thought there was no better time to go to the beach! I'd like to say I went for a swim in the sea but although the weather was warm, the sea definitely was not so I gave it a miss and just dipped my toes in haha- but I did attempt to jump a few waves! (which didn't go too well..) We even had time to make sandcastles with my cousins and hang about by the rock pools all day which was bliss, it was nice to be able to relax in the sun. Later on we ate ice creams (coconut and mint choc chip- mmmm!) which ended up melting in the sun and led to us speed-eating them as quickly as we could!

All in all it was a great day- the sun shone and the weather was lovely, but I did get burnt  as always (I think the sun hates me- shout out to all the pale people out there who burn so so easily like me.) If you enjoyed this blog and you'd like me to do more lifestyle blog posts like this please let me know!

What's your favourite thing about the beach?

Un-bloggable...

This isn't going to be the most fancy blog post with creative pictures and whatnot- just an update. After being stuck for blog ideas, procrastinating and being so busy, I finally realised how long I've gone without blogging and it's been a whole 10 days! 10 DAYS. That might not seem like the longest time in the world but, seeing as I set myself a target to blog at least once a week, I've gone a long time without blogging and, to be honest, I've missed it. Whether I'm busy with school work or just can't think of anything to write about, there's always something in the way of me actually having the time to blog. It seems that everything I see or do is so un-bloggable and completely not worth writing about and so I never do- which explains the 10 days of unwritten blog posts.

But, as the end of school is almost here, that means summer holidays- and summer holidays mean more free time and so that means more time for blogging and hopefully more exciting things for me to blog about! I can't promise an interestingly amazing blog within the next few days or so but I can promise more creative and fun blog posts beginning July 19th (when school finishes aha) so I will definitely try to conjure something great up by then that you will all read and enjoy.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm sorry for the 10 whole days of unwritten blog posts but I know there'll be more exciting blog posts on the way - oh and sorry for this crappy blog post but I felt like I needed to write it.  :)

June Beauty Favourites

July. The lead up to summer is finally here. School ends. Holidays begin. Weather gets warmer- what's not to love about summer? So in celebration of one of my favourite times of the year and this new month, I thought I'd write about a couple of my favourite bits n' bobs from last month!

Barry M has to be one of my favourite nail polish brand of all time. They're so affordable and always come out with new nail polish designs and ideas. I don't actually have a particular favourite nail polish from Barry M so I thought I'd show you some of my collection. (the rest of them were scattered in my drawer somewhere and I don't think they would've been able to fit in the camera shot aha) They're long lasting and so colourful which I love - definitely give them a try when you get the chance!

Dermalogica are a brand that I've recently discovered - and loved. The cleanser is so creamy and moisturising and get's rid of makeup really well, the toner is cooling and refreshing and perfect for the up-and-coming summer months. Lastly, the moisturiser is so creamy but not too thick which I love. Also, you notice the difference in moisture in your skin within the next day or so as it's such a quickly absorbing but long lasting product - definitely a good way to get glowingly soft skin!

Benefit Brow Zings brow shaping kit is a product that I have a sort of love-hate relationship towards but I felt like I should mention this product in this blog post because it is an amazing eyebrow kit but is also slightly tricky to use and can sometimes be a chore. (I think I may do a separate blog post on a review of this so, if you'd like a review, let me know.)

This deep cleansing face mask is new from Montagne Jeunesse so it was the first time I'd ever tried it a couple of weeks ago- and I love it! The slightly odd combination of olive oil and shea butter did wonders to my skin and didn't smell all that bad (I was expecting to be holding my nose for all of 15 minutes while my face mask dried, aha) so I would definitely recommend this to everyone looking for a deep facial cleanse face mask as this left my skin feeling silky smooth and very clean!

Hope you enjoyed my short and sweet post (well, as short as a fairly rambled blog post can be) on the things that I've been loving. If you want me to review any of the products mentions in more detail, please let me know. :)

Review: Seventeen 'Instant Glow'

Following a quick trip into town to get a few things, I decided to pop into Boots for a little mooch around. I didn't plan on buying anything there... until I came across this:

Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in 'Gold Bronze.'

 No.7 'Directional Powder Brush'

(sorry for the rubbishy swatches, the lighting suddenly went dark.)

For the price of only roughly £4.50, I couldn't resist and had to buy it- and I was definitely not disappointed! With the four different shimmer shades, this bronzer-with-a-twist, has multi purposes.

I love to use the lightest shade to highlight my cheekbones and brow bone etc. to give a wide awake look and draw attention to the cheekbones. You can also combine all of the shades together to create a lovely, golden brown, bronzed look. The colours are so easy to use and blend and give you a natural glow, without looking too obvious - you can even double up the shades to create an eye shadow look, too!

However, if you are not exactly a fan of shimmer, I would avoid this product as it can look quite sparkly and, if too much is applied, can look unnatural. Despite, the great pigmentation, the staying power of this powder isn't the best but, if you don't mind reapplying throughout the day, then this product is perfect for you. I recommend dusting it on with the No.7 'Directional Powder Brush' because it is suuupeer soft and amazing for blending and applying- but you can use whatever brush you like. If you ever get the chance to buy this, I definitely recommend that you do! A-maz-ing. :)
